32nd Tudor Place Garden Party
Georgetowners honor longtime resident Tom Birch.
Donning fascinators, floppies, panamas and boaters, Georgetowners came out in style Wednesday evening for Tudor Place's 32nd Spring Garden Party.
A cherished springtime tradition, this annual fundraiser supports historic preservation, conservation and educational programming for all ages, and for thousands of visitors each year.
Executive Director Mark Hudson joined co-chairs Aimee Burck and Zoe Persina to welcome guests for an evening of fabulous food and drink, and to recognize this year’s honoree, Tom Birch for his outstanding contributions to Georgetown.
Board of Trustees President, Christy Pichichero thanked Tom "for his longtime service on the Advisory Neighborhood Commission, being a fine neighbor, a generous member, a donor and a docent."
Tom has selected Collections for any donations that come in under his name.
On exhibit now, “Ancestral Spaces: People of African Descent” is a very special installation and guided tour receiving national attention for its collaboration with descendants of enslaved and free people of African descent who lived and worked at Tudor Place.
With gratitude to Tom, donors, members and partners, Mark Hudson recognized his talented team including Director of Development & Communications Janet Wall and Development Manager Jessica Zaluzec.
Guests enjoyed lively conversation and entertainment by Foggy Bottom Whomp Stompers.
