Alara is Open
Georgetown's new culinary gem from Turkey, Greece, and Lebanon.
Hakan Ilhan's latest restaurant, Alara, is now open. In the space formerly occupied by Paolo's Ristorante, Mediterranean classics from Turkey, Greece, and Lebanon are exquisitely prepared to perfection.
The stunning interior, designed by Maggie O'Neill (who also did Brasserie Liberté around the corner) has room for up to 120 guests in the dining and bar areas.
The Georgetown Dish had a chance to sample virtually everything on the extensive menu. FABULOUS!
Ilhan also plans to serve some Turkish specialties from Ottoman Taverna.
In addition to Alara, Hakan Ilhan's DC restaurants are Brasserie Liberté, Ottoman Taverna, Il Piatto and Al Dente.
Alara is located at 1303 Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown.
