On the 79th anniversary of D-Day, join Tudor Place Artist-in-Residence Peter Waddell and Professor Tom Long (George Washington University and Director of The Albert H Small Normandy Institute and former U.S. Navy Lieutenant) to hear about the battle that saved civilization.

Through Peter’s meticulously detailed images in this painting, see the full scope of the invasion of the Normandy beaches at one moment: 9:30 on the morning of June 6, 1944. Hear stories of individual heroism on the extraordinary planning and invention that made the day a victory.
