Dr. James D'Orta and Jed Ross threw a lavish party for their friend Peter Rosenstein in their elegant historic Georgetown home Monday evening.

The occasion was a celebration of Peter's new memoir, Born This Gay: My Life of Activism, Politics, Travel, and Coming Out.

Their triplets Mary Rose, Cubby and AJ were on hand to welcome guests as the gracious hosts thanked everyone for coming.

Peter regaled the crowd with anecdotes from his early years, meeting Martin Luther King, Jr., a lifetime of activism and his travels.

Guest of honor, Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser was there to offer her personal recollections and gratitude, "It seems like only yesterday that we met in a coffee shop on 17th Street. You were one of my earliest friends and supporters in politics."
