Georgetown Celebrates in Style
The Citizens Association of Georgetown honors The Georgetowner's 70th Anniversary.
It was a quintessential Georgetown celebration. Over 200 well heeled Georgetowners coming together to celebrate each other in the most fitting of venues, historic Coolidge House at Quality Hill.
Friday, September 20th, the Citizens Association of Georgetown (CAG) hosted a lavish cocktail party to honor The Georgetowner’s 70th Anniversary!
As drinks flowed and hors d’oeuvres passed, guests mingled throughout the historic mansion and gardens.
CAG President Paul K. Williams shared the new plans for the nation’s oldest civic association, “We’re consolidating our efforts to historic preservation, community service and community involvement, and public safety.”
Chair of the board of trustees of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation, Amity Shlaes said, “It’s an honor to share Quality Hill and to celebrate the Georgetowner’s 70th Anniversary. It’s our job to share our forgotten 30th president, Calvin Coolidge.”
Brittany Sawyer, CAG Executive Director welcomed guests and introduced Event Co-Chairs Ami Aronson and Luke Russert.
The Georgetowner publisher, Sonya Bernhardt thanked her staff, the community and everyone for coming. To rousing cheers, glasses were raised.
