Lemon Tips For Summer

Lemon rinds are the Windex of fruit.

The entire lemon is valuable, and the rinds can be repurposed in unexpected and helpful ways.

The cornerstone of my wellness coaching programs is ALWAYS is to start each day with a nice big glass of warm lemon water. And when you do this, you end up with a daily lemon rind.

Don’t toss it!

There are many ways to use lemon rinds, but these are a few of my favorites.

#1. Deodorize your garbage disposal. Toss your used lemon rind into the garbage disposal and let it run with cool water. Not only will this help to clean the gunk out of your garbage disposal, but the essential oils in the lemon rind will also make your kitchen smell fresh and lovely.

#2. Clean your shower doors. We have a glass shower, and it was a bear to keep the glass sparkling until I started rubbing used lemon rinds on the hard-to-clean corners. Plus, your steamy morning shower smells divine; it's like a mini spa.

#3. Whiten nails. Ok, so you are probably wondering how I figured out #2. It's because, as a chef and health coach, I create a LOT of healthy and delicious recipes for myself and my clients. Sometimes I forget to wear rubber gloves, and my nails get discolored. Rubbing the inside of a lemon on your fingers after cooking is a chef's secret for cleaning and whitening nails.

Remember to stay well hydrated this summer. One of the easiest ways to hydrate is by starting your morning with a nice big glass of warm or room temperature lemon water.

Another way to successfully create a hydration practice is by taking my free 14-Day Hydration Program. You learn why hydration is the secret to having more energy, better sleep and an elevated mood and also how to create your own perfect hydration practice.
