Mary Pinchot Meyer: Murder on the Georgetown Towpath
In his new book, author Peter Janney traces the events that led to the murder of Mary Pinchot Meyer, Georgetown socialite, painter, former wife of Central Intelligence Agency official Cord Meyer, and intimate of President Kennedy.
Mary’s Mosaic: The CIA Conspiracy to Murder John F. Kennedy, Mary Pinchot Meyer, and Their Vision of World Peace is the story of JFK mistress Mary Pinchot Meyer who was killed 11 months after President Kennedy’s assassination in October 1964 while walking along the C & O Canal towpath in Georgetown.
Starting in 1976, Janney spent over 30 years following and researching this story, including the first meeting with Jack Kennedy at Choate School in 1936, their purported experimentation with psychedelic drugs (and relationship with Timothy Leary), her diary, and how her influence on the President may have contributed to her death.
