The Orchestra of the Americas is a pan-American symphony of top musicians, ages 18 to 30, representing 25+ countries in the Western Hemisphere. The orchestra’s Mission is to empower rising musical leaders to transform lives across the Americas and beyond. With more than 5,000 musicians entering the audition process each year, the 80-member ensemble ranks among the most competitive music platforms in the world. Full scholarships ensure the greatest caliber of artistry possible. The Season Centerpiece is a July & August residence and concert tour hosted each year in different regions of the world.
The International Gala raises funds for The Orchestra of the Americas’ Musician Scholarship Program, which provides 80 exceptional rising musicians from across the Americas underwriting to participate in a life-changing 6-week international residency & concert tour. In July & August 2019, The Orchestra of the Americas leads a coast-to-coast Mexico Tour with artists Gil Shaham (USA), Ingrid Fliter (Argentina), Carlos Miguel Prieto (Mexico), Paolo Bortolomeolli (Chile), and other world-class guests, featuring performances in the country’s top venues including Mexico City’s Palacio Bellas Artes, Guadalajara’s Sala Placido Domingo, and Leon’s Teatro Bicentinario, as well as concerts in Puebla, Boca del Rio, Orizaba, Mexico City, Leon, Guadalajara, Morelia, Querétaro, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí, & Monterrey.
