Phillips Music Season begins with a piano trio.
The 2024-25 Phillips Music Season begins Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.
One of the world’s great piano trios, Trio con Brio Copenhagen, has a special program commemorating their 25th anniversary.
Trio con Brio formed in Vienna in 1999 as the fusion of two pairs: sisters Soo-Jin Hong and Soo-Kyung Hong, along with Soo-Kyung’s husband, Danish pianist Jens Elvekjaer. A veteran ensemble of leading international venues including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Lincoln Center, and Concertgebouw, they are known all over the world for their alluring blend of adventurous programming and fresh approach to core repertoire.
They are masters of communication, believing that a thorough connection to the audience preserves freshness and illuminates new angles in the music. Their Phillips performance includes Sergei Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet suite, arranged for piano trio by Trio con brio Copenhagen, Mieczysław Weinberg’s Piano Trio Op. 24, and Franz Schubert’s Piano Trio E-flat D929.
